Peanut Butter Cup Smoothie Recipe

peanutLooking for a guilt-free & scrumptious shake as you get ready for a summer body? You know the summer is coming no matter what:)  This shake will satisfy any sweet tooth and offer a healthy boost of protein at the same time, perfect for post-workout or anytime you want a little extra protein in your day.


  • ½ to 1 scoop of Protein powder (your choice)
  • 3 tsp. of organic peanut butter
  • 1 small banana
  • 1 cup of ice
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1Tbsp. of cocoa
  • pinch of sea salt
  • ¼ tsp of vanilla extract (optional)

Why add peanut butter? It’s loaded with protein and fiber to help you feel full longer. While it’s true that some of the fat in peanuts is saturated, most of the fat in peanuts is of the healthy non-saturated variety, and some polyunsaturated fats, too. Plus, peanuts are good sources of magnesium, potassium, vitamin E. and B6. (just be sure to choose peanut butter made only from peanuts, and skip the added sugar).
